A good-flowing, useful ink. And terrific if you happen to need an ink which will not freeze!

Technically perfect, though not for cheap paper., June 25, 2011 By This review is from: Noodler's Bottle 4.5 ounce Eyedropper Refill - Polar Blue 19805 (Office Product) From a technical perspective, Noodler's Polar Blue is perfect. It sets quickly, resists freezing well, and will cling to the page long after it's been reduced to the consistency of wet pasta. For the record, I have not attempted any of the chemical forgery methods to which it's supposed to be resistant.
At first, I found Polar Blue to be unpleasantly dull-looking. Using it in my work-horse, medium-nibbed Lamy AL-Star, however, I soon found that its lack of gradient lends it a nice matte finish on paper. While your script won't "pop" off the page as it might with Noodler's Baystate Blue, I think you'll find the matte appearance lends a readability to the page that's lacking in brighter inks.
As with most Noodler's inks, Polar Blue is not meant for "cheap" paper. Bleed-through is a nuisance on anything less than 24lb. paper, and the bleed-through on a ruled Moleskine page is apparent, but acceptable. I might switch to a finer nib at some point, but mostly I write... Read more
